Sharing Your Story
Thank you so much for wanting to share how Cope has impacted you and/or your family! We are so proud to be a part of your journey and are grateful that you would like to use your story to inspire others.
Sharing your story will let other know about the resources that are available to them and inspire others to further Cope’s mission to empower parents, nurture children and strengthen communities. With all stories that we share we follow these guiding principles:
Strength
In all stories that are shared, we will always try to fully reflect the strength of those sharing their stories by celebrating their participation and contributions.
CONSENT
We will make clear the intended and possible uses before we share any story (examples listed below), and they will not be shared without the consent of the person telling their story. When requested, we will protect the identity of the subject by changing specific details (like name or age).
Truth
We strive to portray and accurate depiction with the stories we share, and above all we value the telling of the story as the subject sees it.
Gratitude
A shared story is one of the best ways to inspire others. We see a story as a true contribution with a BIG impact, and we are thankful when a person is willing to give us the gift of their time and experiences.
How Your Story Will Be Used
As mentioned, stories shared with us are used to describe the services that are available at Cope and to inspire others to support our work. Examples of how stories may be used are:
Testimonials on the website
Social media posts about the programs
In our Annual Report shared with donors to demonstrate how their donations are making an impact
In requests for funding to keep our services free of charge
Newsletters to Cope’s followers to demonstrate the work being done
